I missed the boat on this, as it appears the footage was swiftly scrubbed from the internet. I am intrigued, though. I thought Mia Goth was very good in "A Cure for Wellness" and "High Life", but after seeing "X" and "Pearl", I will watch anything this bitch does, no questions asked. I don't have strong feelings on Skarsgard either way, other than the fact that I'd like his dick inside me. The film was directed by David Cronenberg's son, Brandon.

I'm excited. I follow Neon Films on IG. Anything they put out is going to be good. A24 used to be amazing, but they have sucked recently. Now I am always looking to see what Neon puts out and they have lots of teasers right now for "Infinity Pool".

I recommend also seeing "Revenge" and "Pleasure - 2 excellent films released in the last year or so.

R6 I think Neon and A24 are both great, and have roughly equal hits and misses. "Pearl" and "X" were the standouts from A24 this year for me by a long shot. Neon put out David (Brandon's dad) Cronenberg's "Crimes of the Future" earlier this year (which I actually liked, though I know that's an unpopular opinion). They also released "The Lodge" in 2019, which I thought was a stellar horror movie—dark as fuck, but very well-acted and extremely atmospheric. That was one of my favorite movies of that year, bar none.

REVENGE is great because of gratuitous male nudity, while, PLEASURE sucks because male frontal nudity is provided by truly hideous men.

Neon's films push the envelope just a little bit more than A24, which is what I like about them. I liked Pearl, but was hoping for more based on the previews.

Both A24 and NEON are great, much better than schmaltzy shit spewers like Apple or Fox Searchlight.

I love that Brandon will tow the family line for fucked up cinema...as will his sister.

Story-wise, this movie looks like it'll ultimately be boring. However, I'll sit through it to look at Skarsgård.

The original cut is apparently far more gratuitous than what got released--the director's cut allegedly shows cum flying out of Skarsgard's dick. There's a scene early in the film where Goth's character interrupts him while he's pissing and gives him a hand job. You see some cum drip onto the rocks below them in the theatrical release version, but no cock.

I thought it was a compelling film, for what it's worth. Very dystopian and atmospheric. I liked Goth better in "Pearl", but she does a zany femme fatale turn in this. Skarsgard is good too, and nice to look at (of course).
